So I was walking down my street coming home from work (hence the dark and not-so-great photos) and something caught my eye in a shop window that usually catches my eye: TYPE!
Real, actual, wooden type, right off a letterpress bed. Paired with mirrors so that common non type-nerds could read what it said! And bilingual!
So who are these geniuses who constantly amaze me with their simple yet stunning window displays? Well, the shop used to be a clothing store, but that closed a few months back, and since then, though I had noticed the window displays, I had never seen any sign of who inhabited the store-turned-office-space now. I thought : only Architects could produce such simplicity right?
Wrong! Turns out, when you look for something, you usually find out it’s been there all along… So right in front of my face I finally saw the name I had been looking for: Gravemaker + Scott . And they’re not architects, they’re Graphic Designers, like me! With a penchant for print work and letterpress, like me! Amazing! and right under my nose…
